Faith is believing that Christ performs your work for you. We are called to this enormous work, given assignments of great things and then we are told not to do it but to BELIEVE Christ can and will, as the indwelling power for living. We are to exert diligence to enter the rest that God in Christ has given to His own.

During the Sixties there was a Christian (?) saying that went "Fake it 'till you make it". I have always found this to be a subterfuge and a lie to my heart and to others. Further it has been a device to prevent me from digging into the real truth of the matter. Using it kept me in a kind of patch up scenario both physically as well as mentally.

As Martha said, "If you find out you can't do it, you either lie or go to God." Yes, we can lie or "fake it." I know that one personally. Thank you for so clearly expressing the "process" of entering the rest; the process of taking up our responsibility, trying and failing and coming to the crisis of knowing I can't do it, and finally giving up and letting Him do and be! It sets me free to be in, to welcome the "process!"
