And in the course of time,
Cain brought to the Lord an offering
of the fruit of the ground.
Genesis 4:3 Amplified Bible
Adam and Eve never exhibited so
callous a pride as to
fail to concede to God.
They accepted the blood sacrifice and
wore the skin covering.
Even in the birth of Cain, Eve credited
God with the gift of a son.
Not Adam. Not herself.
"Eve said, 'I have
acquired a man from the Lord.'"
But the heart of this firstborn boy had
lifted itself to a new level of pride,
not found even in his fallen parents.
The serpent seduced Eve and influenced Adam
but Cain entered a lower level
of human ruin
and a greater alliance with the serpent.
In refusing the blood, and by spilling blood,
Cain sank down into
actual evil: overcome, invaded
and used by Satan.
Cain became the serpent's unwitting puppet,
a veritable channel for its poison of death
with Cain as the fang.
Cain brought several firsts into human history.
He was the first 'born-son' of created parents.
He brought the first offering to God
But he also introduced the first appearance of religious evil:
by a hell enflamed arrogance that gives
a puffed-up show of service to God
while hatching His murder in secret.
Abel brought to God the first worship...
a sincere human need,
coming to God His way,
on His terms.
Cain was the founder of the
first religion,
the fake worship of God:
a lying facade that rejects God
and replaces Him with Satan,
while using God's name to legitimize it.
Cain founded 'religion instead of worship,'
an actual system of murder.
Religion, by invasive control of another's life,
is deliberate murder of human freedom to
choose God...or not,
and the oppressor of
mankind's right to live as purely human,
simple and needy.
Where 'religion instead of worship'
is given free reign
its end is always...murder.
