The Hour of Our Destiny
The Hour of Our Destiny
Author: Martha Kilpatrick

In one hour of a normal sunny day our nation was catapulted into war,
and the world with us. That one hour has brought us to our destiny. Each of us live and are alive for this hour. So we, the ordinary, the young, the too old, we ALL are in a war that has knocked down our front door, right up the street from us. By this sudden emergency, we face an uncertain future. The security of yesterday was blown away by the 'today' frozen in time called "September 11th." Our future as a nation lies in the hands of believers in the Only Son of God, Jesus Christ, and our personal lives hang suspended in that balance.

God moves always in the integrity of preparation, a long time in advance. He never leaves us with surprises for which we are unprepared. If we listen, AND obey we are ready for what comes like the Psalmist who says Psalm 112:7 NAS He will not fear evil tidings; His heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord. In January of 1998, I understood by the Holy Spirit's revelation in scripture that God's judgment was coming to America and it could no longer be prayed away. In February of 1998, I told our small church group that war was coming, it was inevitable and we each one should personally prepare for it, by a life of discipline even as voluntary soldiers. God moves always in the integrity of preparation, a long time in advance. He never leaves us with surprises for which we are unprepared. If we listen, AND obey we are ready for what comes like the Psalmist who says

Psalm 112:7 NAS He will not fear evil tidings; His heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord.

(The tape of this personal message given originally just to our church is being made available now: Call to War 1998)

So many others voices were saying "peace, peace" that at times I doubted what I had seen. Other voices were saying that we could pray and turn the nation around. I knew of only David Wilkerson as one who held to his vision of great judgment and devastation for America. Surely there were others but he was the only one I knew.

Carole Nelson, who has experienced judgment (and we all have if we will see it), loves God's hand of judgment as the sword "dripping with mercy and love." A sword sent to save us and prepare us to face a Holy God. She envisioned a banner for our church with a name of God rarely known. The banner has a huge silver sword across the word
"Makkeh" . . . the God who strikes.

We in this church know Makkeh! and love Him dearly . . . .
He has struck us and continues to do so.
The Father's sword cuts as a merciful surgeon going for the cancer of sin to save the spirit by slaying the soul's self love.

I have been waiting for days to hear a word from the Lord. I heard this one very clearly:
"Ask that America will fall on her knees and pray."

This was a frightening word to my heart because much of the church today are like those "servants" in the parable of the minas taught by Jesus in Luke 19:11-27. The story says that this King's citizens "hated him and sent a delegation after saying,
'we do not want this man to reign over us.'"

Today so many who are "His citizens" hate Him and the evidence of that hatred lies in the fact that countless "Christians" today do not welcome Jesus as master, King, and ruler. We have become no different that the "citizens of God" in His day.

To serve and obey can be two different things of two different kingdoms. To kneel means to bow to the reign of the Rightful King. It isn't merely a posture but a mindset!

Much of America is praying but standing in human strength - not surrendering to our Mighty and Awesome God. He who watches wants us on our KNEES praying. "On your knees" is just a picture of bowing to God's will and purpose, not merely to ask for self preservation.

I am silent and deeply troubled in my spirit because I sense another catastrophe is coming to American soil. Yesterday, the news media has warned of it through an official government alert, so I am going to speak out now.

The center of God's will is the only place of safety and our personal repentance is the way to His heart and presence. Our small group has experienced repentance in the last few years that I would describe as terrible and wonderful. Terrible by the pain of seeing sin from God's view, and wonderful in the liberty that comes out of true repentance. When the Lord gives me the message, I will be writing about repentance soon.

Some of the catastrophe can be averted by the prayers of obedient and humble servants of the Lord. All have been called to prayer but the prayers of surrendered hearts, of the "righteous" avail much. Those who walk in the absolute reign of the King over them have access to special audience with Him and they have His ear and favor.

David Wilkerson is called to New York City so God shared with him and the congregation the urgent call to pray. I believe that through the prayers of Times Square Church before September 11th, the president and the capitol and many other lives were spared. David Wilkerson's church shut down all activities and went into silence and intercession in the two weeks before September 11th. They knew catastrophe was coming and as a whole body they met to pray. There is in that church a powerful call to holiness and obedience, the two prerequisites for prevailing prayer. (Fallen Towers, Missed Message)

They have known a corporate repentance that is wonderful and rare, pleasing to our God and Father of the Lord Jesus Christ.

We who have not learned the fear of God by the knowledge of who He really is - as GOD - will learn it now. Must learn it!

Many voices are calling for prayer. I am calling too! Begging the Father for intercessors who are intimate with Him and know His heart. Praying people who give Him His throne in the secret heart.

Somehow this internet is a tapestry of God's weaving the transcendent church together. We have come to this hour with a mighty means of unity in the Holy Spirit who alone is our counselor and source of prayer.

When believers met to pray for Peter in prison the scripture says:
Acts 12:5 KJ Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.

The word in Greek for "without ceasing" actually means "stretched out." This crisis will take being stretched out! Fasting, night watchings, sacrifice and crying out for repentance and mercy.

AMERICA! Church! Let us pray!
