“The Cross is the dividing line between believer and disciple. The Cross is the bond of fellowship or the obstacle to Body life.” — Martha Kilpatrick (Manna, 11/13/06)

Our God Reigns
Our God Reigns
Author: Martha Kilpatrick

One of the most misunderstood, twisted and abused doctrines of Christianity is the subject of authority. It is a neglected study. It is an excuse for tyranny. The church that purports to be of Jesus, is one which today functions as Apostate Israel: "each one doing what is right in his own eyes." True authority, as God ordained it, is scarcely to be found. The Divine Order of authority is clear in scripture. We don't like it so we build a self-reasoned case against it. But it stands...as an eternal doctrine and a practical guide to God's will.

God is so much God that
He is in mysterious control,
even of the heart of heathen kings.

God sent Moses to conquer Pharaoh and then
hardened that king's heart against His own messenger!

Time and again Moses came before this ruler with God's orders,
only to be opposed by God's own
dominion over the Pharaoh!

Strange contradiction.

For the scripture says to Pharaoh,
"For this very purpose I raised you up,
that I may show my power in you, and
that My name may be declared in all the earth."

      Romans 9:17

Heathen king, evil in intention.
But internally subject to a God he refused to know.
Divine enigma to us.

Pharaoh existed for God's purpose,
to illustrate God for eternity.

To prove Jehovah's dominion over anything,
everything . . . anyone.

Pharaoh was the arena of life and death for Moses,
the demise of his timidity
and the rise of his faith in
a God who has the last word and
whose every word is fulfilled.
