Heaven’s Rule: The Light of the World Has Come!
Author: Martha Kilpatrick

The giant universe reveals God and points to His Son . . . for Whose delight it was fashioned and in Whose holy hand it is held. The heavens preside. Heaven rules the day, the night, the hour, the year . . . the crops, the tides. And we live ever under the lines drawn by the heavens above us. For us. If not to God, at least to the "lights," we submit. In the Heavens, the Father utterly rules, issuing life-in-light, down to us.

Jesus is Life and Light.

As to His life, not comparable to human life.
All earthly beings die.
The longest living thing will soon die.
All things on earth . . . die.
But the Life of Christ is "an indestructible life."
No known power can destroy it,
no pressure diminish it.
It is a life immune to all destruction.

Christ's Life is permanent,
a species of Life unknown to us,
beyond our comprehension,
unlike the life we know as fragile,
hurtable, killable . . . temporary.

In Him was life and that life was the light of men.
John 1:4 NIV

Through his place of wide open love,
John knew Jesus in a dimension given
(it seems) only to him.

And he presented His essence in terms beyond normalcy.
Christ did not "have" life. He "was Life."
The Only Living Life in the realm of all-dead men.
All other life was living-dead,
lingering only briefly, headed for a certain end.

Yet the word life, applicable to every person,
was not immense enough to reveal
this wondrous Jesus.
His life had an vital element,
a numinous quality to it, a brilliance about it
that could only be called "Light."

John saw and understood the Lord's
life as Light.

There is natural light and apparently there is
Spiritual Light, an invisible radiance
that is God Himself, Who IS Light.

God is light, and in Him
there is no darkness at all.

1 John 1:5 NAS

Christ is God-Light come down to us.
Light in fullness of joy
is present where He is Lord in residence.
It emanates, radiates and is known by
everyone on whom it shines.

That same Life, indestructible and uncommon,
dwells within every believer.

The death of the body is merely a passage not an end.
LIFE possesses the regenerated servant of Jesus and
will remain untouched when earth's shell is gone.
He is LIFE!

Light has come to every person.

The true light that gives light to every man
                was coming into the world.

John 1:9 NIV

The Light of Jesus' pure holiness rains on all events,
burns into every heart.
The Light of the world has come!

The Light is given to all . . . so
all are accountable for the Light.
Every person has been invaded by
seeing the divine, even if briefly.

And every person that comes into the world
has implanted in his soul, the knowledge
(therefore the Light) of a Watching God.
We are never so blind as we pretend to be
nor ever so deluded as we want to be.

We live under the scrutiny of Light and
refusing the blaze of Light is to
become nakedly exposed
by the very Light we refuse.

To skirt the Light is to be seen
but not to know
that we are clearly seen.
