The Bride Is Ready
The Bride Is Ready
Author: Martha Kilpatrick

A grave deception lies dormant like a sleeping sickness in the theology of the
church . . . an error with eternal consequences and unutterable loss. The error is this: that all believers, all born again Christians will be at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. Christ's own words refute this. The Bride of Christ must meet specific requirements. His parables make such clear illustration of this, it is a marvel there can be such a serious mistaking of His teaching. Salvation is ever free. A gift. Unmerited and unearned by any effort or will. There is no work to be born again, only that of the work of Christ . . . but the Bride, that is another matter.

We can solve nothing about being nothing.
And by being nothing, we can do nothing.

We can only let God.

To see our vulgar condition is crucial
before God can remove and redress.
Only in ugly need will we let . . . God.

The corruption of our soul is such
that we are comfortable with it as
being all we know.

We are created differently,
called uniquely,
but as to sin we are all the same.
Totally corrupt, an irreversible condition.

The real source of corruption is the mind.
As you think, you are.
As you are, reveals how you think.
You will come OUT with what is IN.

Lust is not a problem of the body, but
the harvest of humanity's greedy mind.

The mind's lust of independence
is the source of Eden's fall and
the continuance of our alienation.

Sin sprouts from thought and
thought is rooted in sin.

A circle of introspective fantasy,
going round in ruts of proud imagination . . .
a whole world of three act plays in pure fiction . . .
This is the sick adamic mind, typical to us all.

So the mind is the first issue,
the very beginning of Bridal preparation.

Zechariah speaks.
Then I said, "Let them put
a clean turban on his head."

He stands in this scene as an intercessor
for Joshua in his pitiful state.

Joshua was clothed in the vile and had to be
undressed . . . but there appears to have been
nothing on his head to be removed.

The human mind is uncovered to the thoughts of Satan,
continual bombardment in accusing whispers,
endlessly aimed at you, at others.
And constant subtle slander . . . of God.
All appearing as
the concrete truth and as your original ideas.

The Tree of Knowledge brought death and
futility to the mind. There is no covering now.
No protection from the evil thoughts of Satan.

The first "festal garment" is a covering
of the mind.

The turban of the high priest was white linen
tied in cords of blue.
It spoke of heaven's thoughts given to the priest.

So they put a clean turban
on his head . . . .

verse 5a

They. It takes the Trinity to cover our traitorous mind.
The will of the Father, the power of the Spirit.
The mind of Christ . . .
full of Almighty's thoughts
and His inhuman wisdom.

We are destroying speculations and
every lofty thing raised up against
the knowledge of God, and we are taking
every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.

2 Cor. 10:5 NAS

"I will give my body to the fire,
travel to the far ends,
work to the weary bone for God.
But don't ask me to give up
my precious - inherent - outstanding -
constitutional - endemic RIGHT
to think as I please.
Oh no. That is mine!
My indulgence!
My luxury!
You can have everything else, God,
but it's inconceivable and even impossible
to give my thought life to Your control!"

For those who are according to the flesh
set their minds on the things of the flesh,
but those who are according to the Spirit,
the things of the Spirit.

For the mind set on the flesh is death,
but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace
because the mind set on the flesh
is hostile toward God for it does not subject itself
to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so,

and those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

Romans 8:6 NAS (emphasis mine)

The mind of man is the primal enemy of Christ
so the Bride of the Lamb must wear Jesus'
holy thinking over and above her own mind to the
Wedding Feast . . . her life of thought,
fully soaked in her Lover's holy ideas
by His Word and Voice.

No secret chambers,
no thoughts but His.

The Lamb demands of His Bride the harmony
of like-mindedness.

Her mind must be covered, endued, enveloped
with the "mind of Christ". . .
His gift to the Bride of divine brilliance.

For who has known the mind of the Lord,
that he should instruct Him?
But we have the mind of Christ.

1 Cor. 2:16 NAS

If then you have been raised up with Christ,
keep seeking the things above, where Christ is,
seated at the right hand of God.
Set your mind on the things above,
not on the things that are on earth.

Col. 3:1-3 NAS

What scripture commands,
grace freely performs.

The rambling human mind can be captured to
Christ, owned for communion with His genius.
And this constitutes a command that
it should be.
Shall be!
Can be.
And above all . . . must be!

Next make a medallion of pure gold.
Using the technique
of an engraver, inscribe it with these words:
Set apart as Holy to the Lord.
This medallion will be attached to
the front of Aaron's turban
by means of a blue cord.

Exo. 28:36-37 NLT

The turban was white linen,
Christ's purity covering the mind.

Linen speaks always of rest in
Someone else's working.
No sweat of effort.

The blue cord means that
our mind is to be bound to heaven's views.
Owned and acceptable to the Master.
Gold is the pure and holy thinking of Jesus
carved into the heart of the mind.

The Bride must wear the turban of blue . . .
her thoughts, owned
and conquered.

Imagine! To know the very thoughts of this
unfathomable God, this exquisite Savior,
is the privilege and extreme joy to
which we are invited.
To fail to wear His mind is
to offend the Father of the Bridegroom
who has shared His Son with us so generously!

To live in these thoughts is to wear
the beautiful White Turban, Blue Cord
to the feast of Celebration!
The wedding of the Lamb!

How precious also are Thy thoughts to me, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!

Ps. 139:17 NAS

God dwells in cloudless rest about me,
in the satisfaction of His boundless thoughts.
