The dream of God is marriage.
Marriage was His original relationship
for humanity.
His favorite idea.
The First Institution.
The Original Bond.
Not friends, not brothers and sisters.
Lovers in wedlock.

Marriage . . .
God's Beginning and His Ending
of human history
and mankind's meaning.
And marriage is His story in between.

The Creator made Adam and Eve to
dwell and love within marriage.

The God of Israel viewed that
nation as His wife.

The New Testament church is marked
to spend eternity as the "wife of the Lamb."

Marriage is God's explanation for our
relationship with Him.
And nothing short of "marriage" with
Him satisfies His heart,
and ours . . . .

We were created to
enjoy blissful intimacy with God.
A closeness of spirit,
actual union with His Spirit,
apart from flesh and outside
the human range of relationship.

A sacred joining to God, an eternal bond.
Closer than anything humans can take or give.
A union pictured by this institution we know
and in which we live and love . . . marriage.       

Unguarded ease with the One who
made us for total familiarity.
Nakedness of heart,
enjoying His constant affection,
a union so intimate that it exists
completely within and
can neither be seen nor proven.

A constant and unbroken oneness
experienced in secret
and inviting no one else . . .
just as marriage.
Tenderness and complete understanding
is the romantic dream of every heart,
found with pure fulfillment in this God-Lover.       

God's highest and favorite dream is marriage . . .
for Himself.
For His Son.
For His children . . . you . . . me.       

Marriage with God.
Ultimate joy.
Divine delight.
Anything less is less than His best.       

Note: The phrase "know God" is often a
Hebrew word for know "yada"
which means
"know by observation, investigation,
reflection or firsthand experience."

The word yada is often used in the Bible
to refer to marital intimacy:
"Adam knew his wife and she conceived."
The word "knew" there is yada.
