Many of God's children walk in needless shame and guilt, a state far beyond a broken and contrite spirit which God loves. They live in a posture of moroseness that accompanies a bloodless religion. Many of God's children walk in needless shame and guilt, a state far beyond a broken and contrite spirit which God loves. They live in a posture of moroseness that accompanies a bloodless religion.

Our personal individual life - physical and spiritual - is maintained through the flow of blood. As it is in the natural, it is in the spiritual. And vice versa. Blood has to flow.

There is no life outside the Blood of Christ.
There is no Christ outside of His Blood.
There is no intimacy without His Blood,
no hope and no Body life apart from His Blood.

You can confess and trust your confession. You can repent and rely on your repentance and never access the blood as the only answer for sin. So you are left with the sin and the accompanying guilty deadness.

This is that crucial. My spiritual life is dead as long as I have no Blood flowing through my life. As long as we come to the door of repentance and confession and never activate the Blood as the propitiation for sin, we stay in a continual state of groveling, saying, "I'm so sorry."

That's why intimacy is broken. You can't come into His presence without His blood. As long as you fail to activate that Blood you are outside the camp, dirty and unforgiven. This is what we feel and this is evident by continual guilt and shame amongst God's children.

Fellowship with God is impossible without the Blood. God is holy and His fellowship is with His Son and His communion is THROUGH His Son and if you won't identify yourself by applying His Blood, you have no part with God.

Anything except that Holy Blood is vain imaginings or trumped up emotion, a fake intimacy. The only way God can fellowship with man is with Blood soaked, Blood bought individuals.

God is the same yesterday, today and forever. He required the priest to go through the steps of blood sacrifice before coming into the Holy of Holies. If that priest had walked into the Holy of Holies of his own accord without the sanctification through blood, he would have died, dragged out by the rope they tied around his leg.

In the same way today, we can't enter into the fellowship of intimacy without the Blood of the Lamb.

Satan banks on our having the form with no power in the Blood of Christ. Ignorant of the power of the Blood, we use it merely as a magic abracadabra, some mysterious hokus pokus to ward off evil and sickness. Superstition and not faith. At that, Satan laughs because he is powerless in the presence of the Blood.

R. A. Torrey wrote, "We must know the power of the blood if we are to know the power of God. Our knowing experimentally the power of the Word, the power of the Holy Spirit and the power of prayer is dependent upon our knowing the power of the blood of Christ."

When Adam and Eve ate that fruit, they consumed guilt and shame. Though they became aware of their external condition, the fruit actually rotted them internally. Their Heart to heart union with God was now separated. God in kindness, responded to them externally and covered their nakedness and shame with the blood sacrifice of an animal. Yet also promised that, "Eve your Seed is going to come and bring cleansing for all eternity on the INSIDE."

But throughout all of history the inner core of shame has still remained in mankind. The shame was not the issue, it was merely the response to the real problem. More than a weight in the heart, sin is like being covered with sewage on the inside, with no means of cleaning. Guilt is within and such guilt lies inside all of us. Christ saw that wretchedness and knew the only thing that could wash the soul's filth clean was His own blood.

He said, I don't want to just clothe you on the outside. I want you to take my blood and drink it, take my flesh and eat it because I want to cleanse you within.

The only thing that will cleanse a heart of shame is the blood of Christ. The only way that He could place that blood inside us is that He had to be slaughtered Himself and pour out His own Blood for us. If we drink it, the blood goes inside to the inner place. It's incredible intimacy. Jesus' very flesh, His own blood enters our being.

Yet the Blood speaks of the heart of Christ that gave the blood. It's Christ, all Christ. The blood is the expression of the Person of Christ, evidence of the passionate heart of God. It is an expression.

The goal was to bring us back into Garden intimacy. Union with God. After I am forgiven and cleansed, what then? Do I just settle for being forgiven?

The goal was not cleansing of sin, as such. That was the means. The Father's goal was Garden union. The Blood is more than just a ceremony, or some magic to ward off evil. It is intimacy with Christ.

We appropriate the blood so that we will be cleansed and free from the weight of sin. That is an awesome benefit from the Blood. But even more than that we are cleansed to be fit to enter the very holy presence of the Father

There could be no greater intimacy. Christ is within. In all His holiness, purity by and through His Blood, the life of His very being.

Just think how much more the blood of Christ will purify our hearts from deeds that lead to death so that we can worship the living God. For by the power of the eternal Spirit, Christ offered Himself to God as a perfect sacrifice for our sins.
