2 Timothy 3:15-17 NIV

This is a Bible Study for you, giving you a simple direction and guide so that you may plumb the depths of the treasures in God's Word for yourself.
The Bible is an exciting mystery, one that God longs to reveal to His children. Your spirit will leap and grow when you study it for yourself.

Begin this way.
1. Read through the scriptures recommended.
Then read again and yet again.
Just ponder and absorb the facts presented.
2. Pray that God will reveal to you His thoughts and truths.
Any study of the scripture must be covered in prayer for it is a quest for revelation, not information.
3. Observe the sequence of events in Joseph's life.
4. Answer the basic questions in written form.
5. Record the special insights God reveals to you, beyond the questions.
6. If you like, submit your thoughts with an email to Shulamite.com.
Your insights could be recorded for others to enjoy.

Questions will be given this month, next month answers will be given.

Christmas story

As we approach the Christmas season, let's consider the characters that aren't usually in the forefront.

JOSEPH

Little has been noticed about this man but He was chosen by God to rear His Beloved Son. One note: In Jewish law, the period of engagement was as binding as a marriage. Though they had not been through the ceremony, they were considered bound to the marriage. This is why Joseph had to "put her away" which meant a bill of divorcement.

1. Follow the Christmas story observing only Joseph.
View the story from his perspective.
Consider his side of the events.

Matthew 1-2 Luke 2-4

2. What qualities do you see in Joseph?
A. Character
B. Attitude

3. How does Joseph illustrate surrender to God?

4. How does Joseph mirror the Heavenly Father?

5. How does God speak to Joseph? Contrast it with how He speaks to Mary.

6. What does Joseph's life teach you for your own walk of faith?
