"A man can receive nothing
[he can claim nothing, he can take unto himself nothing]
except as it has been granted to him from heaven.
[A man must be content to receive the gift which is given him
from heaven; there is no other source.]"

John 3:27 Amplified

Only humility needs, and only humility receives. One who refuses the gift of need stands arrogantly against a merciful God who has created us with it. Inadequacy is the core of our humanity. Raw unrelenting need, an absolute necessity to be sustained, which all equals potential and capacity.

GOD has not only given to us a measure of Light but also a measure of need.

Which is the greater gift?

Need is the container of the light.

The greater the need, the greater the capacity to display the Light. If you do not have an insatiable need, you will never have a tremendous anointing. Light will elude you because you refuse to contain it and only when you are empty can you be filled with Light. We have been created a vessel from eternity past. A vessel is what we're created to be. A vessel is what we are. When we refuse to be a vessel, empty and void bar His appearing, we delude ourselves.

Yet many would rather delude themselves with false light, than to face the truth that we are destitute without Him. Preferring to manufacture strange fire, (settling for mere form rather than the manifest presence of God, than face the fact that we are utterly dependent. False fullness which satisfies the pride. All the while thinking that we are the light, and remaining in darkness. When we think we are the source of light rather than the container - then the light in us IS darkness.

But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!
Matt. 6:23

See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness.
Luke 11:35

If we remain in humility our need will reward us more. The neediest of them all, is the richest. He who receives will be filled full. Light will multiply to infinity, in this place of void. As the Spirit hovered over nothing and created something so it will be in your heart.

Matthew 25:28-30
"'Take the talent from him and give it to the one who has the ten talents.
For everyone who has will be given more, and he will have an abundance.
Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him.
And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness,
where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. '"

Like the man who buried his talent we protect ourselves against a "merciless" God. Either masking it by picking up the mirage of satisfied arrogance, "I am in need of nothing," or allowing the vacuum to suck him in to a black hole of darkness. This darkness is great. It is a murderous force. The illusion of self fullness or the rot of bitterness, both actually are the human attempt to prove that God is a liar.

The dark force in the one talent servant holds court daily. The one on trial is God. The bitter servant lines up witness after witness to accuse God of not being good and beyond not good, cruel.

This court room is full and heavily attended. We are the witnesses against this Silent Defendant. You tell me how God was cruel to you and it proves my own case that he was cruel to me. Each witness actually takes the stand for all in attendance to prove each case, a collaboration to prove "God is Evil and man is good."

You will win your case to the masses, you will win it to yourself, but you will loose for all eternity. Yes your earthly crafting of words and witness will thrust you into the proof you clamored for. Your god (Satan) who is also an attorney will share your proof, in an eternal state of your own making. Your hell on earth will seem like a holiday, but you will have proven your case, "Your god is evil."

We as humans can't by nature accept God's supply because we inherently believe, as our mother Eve did, that God withholds what we need. The serpent is still spinning the web of lies, to this day. The work of God is to believe. John 6:29 To believe that He is enough. That He is good. That His supply is not only ample but beyond ample, "12 baskets full."

Give us a sign....
What miraculous sign then will you give that
we may see it and believe you?
What will you do?

Matt 12:38, Matt 16:1, John 6:30

Lacking, lacking, lacking. The feeding of the five thousand wasn't enough. Nor were the healings, the demonic hosts being subdued, the countless miracles. Actually they had need of nothing and yet assumed they served a God who had slighted them terribly.

The human tragedy is to believe the lie: to resist the gift of need and enter that courtroom of discontent where God is on trial. Come! Let us go against the tide. We are neither rich, in need of nothing nor are we destitute, left lacking by a heartless cruel eternal tyrant. No we have all sufficiency in Him.

The heart is as insatiable as the grave till Jesus enters it,
and then it is a cup full to overflowing.

Charles Spurgeon
