Genesis: In The Beginning, God
Genesis: In The Beginning, God
Author: Martha Kilpatrick

God is the beginning of all. What He does not begin, ends at its beginnings. From the fountain of His boundless imagination flow the inventings of our finest ideas. We are merely cups of varying levels of receptivity. Some narrow, some wide. What we begin, drawing out of the cauldron of human depravity and calling it God's plan, will find no support from Him . . . and no Brilliance of His Glorious Mind. He must begin whatever is begun. He initiates. We respond. He proclaims. We hear. He gives. We receive. He imagines . . . we are simply the clay of His inventive molding.

Though ages have passed and time has washed by in eons,
we have yet to understand what an enormous loss
happened in Eden . . .
all that mankind forfeited for
the paltry prize of independence.

To leave God is to enter the death of everything,
Absolute death, excluding nothing.
God is Life - the Only Life - and apart from Him,
there is only torment and nothingness.

No light was placed in the earth.
No light shines from it, and
it is entirely dependent on the "Great Light"
God set in the firmament.

All of earth-life revolves around
that Great Light, the Only Light,
and it shines as a picture and pattern of
the Son, the only Son
on whom we are as dependent for basic existence
as the earth is utterly in need of the sun.

When Adam and Eve looked at the serpent
and then at each other
their gaze left the Son and fell to earth,
the Earth of No-Light.

Focus. That is the entire issue. And the crisis.
Gaze is everything.

When our gaze is fixed on the Son,
there is life, light, energy, clarity and even . . . purity.

When our gaze is on the wrongs or
rights of another human,
when our centrality is on things or works,
our center becomes the earth in which
there is only . . . darkness.

No person, no work, no thing holds light for
they are all of the earth.
The Light exists outside of us, outside of "here."

Adam and Eve experienced Paradise
as long they gazed at the Light of God.

When they turned to behold their own abilities-and-wants
and then considered the error of the other,
they were doomed to the unlit earth and
the absence of Light was their fatality.

The Garden of their bliss was closed to them, for
God will have all or nothing.
There is no such thing as a fulcrum of balance,
no double gain of God and self.
One must go. One of them DOES go.

No one can serve two masters;
for either he will hate the one and love the other,
or he will hold to one and despise the other.
You cannot serve God and mammon.

Matt. 6:24 NAS

Focus. All is determined by focus.
What you think about, what you are involved in,
what you picture . . . this is Focus.
And anything other than the Bright Son is death!

The sun is the focus and centrality for earth and
The Son is the shining center for mankind.
He is the Fixed Point of turning humanity
around which it revolves
and for whom it exists!

To leave looking at Him, simply looking,
is to leave sanity, order, verity, primal health . . .
and to fall, all over again,
from glory to dirt . . .
and is one's personal expulsion from
the Eden of God's realized presence.
