(Introduction)
The whole of life is a venting, a spewing of
either love for God or hatred for Him.
Our hidden love or our latent hatred
creates the lens of viewing life
and in that glass are the personal colors of
our kaleidoscope seeing.
Always always God is the issue.
Never circumstances.
Never people.
Only the heart's secret
contempt for or longing for . . . God.
This is the face we wear to all the world.
And by those roots in the secret heart - the real face -
our personal fruit ripens into a certain offering of
poison or health.
Life or death.
Never both. One or the other.
The Faces of Love and Hate are
extremes of polar opposition,
the difference between
real heaven and literal hell.
Those faces are certain, frighteningly or wonderfully real.
Not the imagination of a story teller
but the very faces you will meet yourself
along the footpath of
your pursuit
of Christ.
Faces of Purity and Faces of Evil.
You will gaze at both specters.
My purpose is to paint the faces for you.
Grim and glorious.
God's scripture and His writers had clear vision
of the two faces and courage to speak their names.
Today we are not skilled in seeing the line between
darkness and light.
And that ignorance will be the downfall of many.
Jesus told His disciples:
I am sending you out like sheep among wolves.
Therefore be shrewd as snakes and
as innocent as doves.
Mt. 10:16 NIV
Paul, who healed and preached, who loved and prayed
also called Elymas, You are a child of the devil
and an enemy of every thing that is right.
And then! By the power of the Holy Spirit
declared him blind for a time. And he was!
Acts 13:4-12
To fear the LORD is to hate evil;
I hate pride and arrogance,
evil behavior and perverse speech.
Prov. 8:13
Today it is rare for the church to hate evil.
Evil sits unnamed on the front pew
and goes unconfronted.
And in the end, evil seeps into the Body with
the poison of death to what God wills
and to the souls of His children who
will not hate evil and name it with courage.
The church by blindness to the contrast
fails also to recognize the servant of God,
the anointed and the listener.
Where evil rules, the godly are persecuted
and slandered by the whispers of God's enemy.
May the Holy Mirror show you the difference between
a fruitful garden and a dead boned tomb.
Only the unveiled face beholds the Real God.
