Altogether Forgiven
Altogether Forgiven
Author: Martha Kilpatrick

We are all on a lifelong journey and the core of its meaning, the terrible demand of its centrality, is forgiving and being forgiven. To forgive is to possess holy power over the person you are forgiving, power to change their life for God, for goodness, to free your enemy from his Enemy, that he might see his error. Come with me, beloved of God, come with me to behold the miracle of the universe - forgiveness.

Every command and every principle has a secret. And for every question and every need and indeed every command of Scripture the answer is always Christ. Every command and every principle has a secret.

And for every question and every need and
indeed every command of Scripture
the answer is always Christ.
Simply Christ.

He IS the treasure, His Life is the power and
His Life in all its fullness dwells IN me.
That is the solution.
He is my personal fountain of forgiveness.

There is grace equal to every offense.
Grace, the strength of God imparted
to the weakness of humanity.

David, wronged by Saul and hounded by
the jealousy of the King he simply served.
David said, God is the strength of my soul.

He wrote of his agony, his wishes for the enemy, but ended
his heart's outpouring in grace and love . . .
mourning for his enemy's wasted life.

Amazing Life of God
taking away the sting and hate
that is inevitable from violation.

There is Only One capable of completed forgiveness.
One Alone is the source and spring of forgiveness
and we must drink of His Life
whose forgiveness is a gift,
no! even more . . . a miracle.

Only One can endure and bear the pain.
Christ! He "bore our griefs and sorrows."

Sin, the unbearable burden,
was nailed to the cross,
but another burden hung there,
laid on Him who bore all human loads:
grief and sorrow, equally unendurable
to frail sheep-people.

The human heart in its total "inclination toward evil"
has no capacity for forgiving to the uttermost.

The heart of Jesus, who knows all . . . forgives all.
And the matchless power of
His gracious forgiveness must be mine.

The blank truth about us dusty humans is this:
I cannot forgive.

"God has made me forget . . ."Gen. 41:51

So God must give me Divine Forgiveness
for those, my torturers.
To receive it, waits only for me to need it.
