Poetry: The Wind and the Waves

Author: John Enslow  9 January 1996

My faith sings, my passion soars
In ebb tide do I drift from shores

Out on the sea, I walk His waves
Where dependence alone, courageously braves

Trading the secure for the surprise
Allowing my Lord to open up my eyes

The wood of the boat and sand of the beach
Will never allow, my potential to reach

Alone with waters beneath my feet
Can I only proclaim my fear's defeat

Learning to befriend who He is in me
Reliance and trust on bended knee
