Poetry: The Frightful Revelation of the Soul

As Scrutiny looks within to me I see what, thought I, would never be. All the horrors, locked away Revealed-in full-one awful day. As Scrutiny looks within to me
I see what, thought I, would never be.

All the horrors, locked away
Revealed-in full-one awful day.

Deep beyond the twinkling eyes
Lives man, the likes, that all despise.

Tucked away, beneath all view
A murderous culprit leaves no clue.

Looming in dark. beyond the facade
Lurks death's every shade, hater of God.

Veiled in pretense, within I hide
Even my eye, deigns not to look inside

He's all my fears, wrapped in one
Chilling thing, no where to run.

All of sin, from man's turned eye
Resides in me, I cannot lie.

Everything that man does shun
Begs me release, to say I've done.

Murderer, adulterer, idolater too
All things in man, there's nothing new.

As a child, I come with hopes
"Release my ways of futile copes."

Now I lay me down to sleep
In God alone, my soul He keeps.
