A Blessed and Merry Christmas to All
In the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself.
All things were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him was not even one thing made that has come into being. In Him was Life, and the Life was the Light of men.
John 1:1, 3-4 AMPC
What makes a Merry Christmas? When those of us who are born again gather with our families this year, we can rejoice in the Light of the world…even if those we’re with do not. Light doesn’t require an introduction or explanation; Light shines. And that glowing Life and Love will draw the eye and heart more surely than mere words ever could.
There is so much strife in the world. The expectations are endless and the pressures are increasing. But when we belong to Jesus, it is our privilege to carry Him into every gathering we attend, every conversation we carry, and every relationship we have. Is there a better time to let the Light of men shine than on the day we celebrate His birth?
A Merry Christmas is Steeped in Love
Not everyone has a family that is also church. And that’s not a problem. Every moment we spend with family and friends is a chance for us to bear witness to how Christ chooses to love them. Every person we love, have ever loved, and ever will love is here because of Jesus Christ. If “all things were made and came into existence through Him,” then He knows very well what to do and say to His creation. It’s not ours to plan or figure out, we just abide in the Life. And the Life is Love.
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
Luke 2:10-11 KJV
“Good tidings of great joy, which shall be TO ALL PEOPLE.” Every heart, however hard, carries a grain of knowledge that God is God and He’s worthy of praise and thanksgiving. And the only force on earth that can water that God-planted seed until it blooms into salvation is Love. “For God SO LOVED the world that He gave His only begotten Son…” To love, God created all of us. For love, God sent His Son to save us. In love, Christ died on the Cross of Calvary for us. Every story has at its heart Love.
Love is the key to life, and to THE Life, and to having a truly Merry Christmas. God bless you all!
