Overcoming Self-hatred: Free at Last to Love!

Overcoming-Self-hatred Martha Kilpatrick

Martha Kilpatrick’s latest booklet, Overcoming Self-hatred, is now available exclusively on Kindle! The second of what will be a series of booklets on overcoming, this powerful and practical teaching shines a bright light on the hidden hatred lurking in many a believer’s heart.

Overcoming Self-hatred is Pervasive

Is it not strange that we believe we have the right to judge and say whatever we want about ourselves, even as we accept no such liberty when it comes to other people? Self-hatred is perhaps so common because we do not even register the cursing and condemnation we regularly level at ourselves as being hateful. But God clearly does not see it that way at all.

“‘And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ The second is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
Mark 12:30-31 NASB (emphasis added)

We are commanded to love others as we love ourselves. How many of us are failing miserably in that obedience and don’t even recognize it?

Overcoming Self-hatred is NOT Optional

With great clarity and compassion, Martha’s Overcoming Self-hatred reveals this hidden hatred, highlights the destructive results of nursing self-hatred, and points the way to true and total deliverance from this scourge of our own making. However much we have hated ourselves, we are not bound to stay there. We can overcome, and in fact, we must.

We belong to Jesus Christ now, and self-hatred is a door we open to Satan’s ravaging. How much of the spiritual warfare we experience is coming through that very door? How often do we look around and ask who is cursing us when all the while we are the culprits? Overcoming self-hatred is not an option for any born-again believer because we are called to be vessels of Christ and the Love of God to all the world. And when we do not love ourselves, we cannot love others.

Overcoming Self-hatred is being released at just the perfect time. In less than a month, we will celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Is there a better gift to give Him than a heart wiped clean of hatred and able to pour out His unquenchable Love on the world He came to save?

“I receive the power and grace of God to let myself alone, to let myself BE…and to be a stumbling child that needs to be kept and held.”
