A Testimony of Glory

There are many kinds of healings. Some healings are miraculous, some healings come through conventional medicine, and some healings take place inside the heart and spirit. The September 2015 Message of the Month, “A Testimony of Glory,” is Martha Kilpatrick’s personal story of all three of these healings.

“A Testimony of Glory” is Martha’s heartfelt, deeply personal journey with the Lord through cancer. This modern-day plague has become so pervasive that fewer and fewer families are spared its touch. Its very name is enough to strike fear in the hearts of those who hear it. Yet cancer is not beyond the reach of God, and it’s certainly not outside His purpose.

Anytime we are struck with sickness, it can be an uphill battle to listen for the Lord’s Voice, let alone hear His word and stand on His promise. It is no accident that at the very moment of our greatest vulnerability, the enemy strikes with His accusations and lies. “A Testimony of Glory” is particularly anointed to counter the attack on God’s goodness that comes when we suffer sickness, and the encouragement and hope it conveys is the Holy Spirit’s own.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
Romans 12:1 KJV

There are many teachings on the body as a living sacrifice that focus on denying ourselves daily, the indwelling life of Christ, and the daily Cross. But very few look at the “living sacrifice” that can be sickness. If we suffer a sickness unto the glory of God, is not that “a living sacrifice”?

“A Testimony of Glory” addresses deep and difficult questions like this through Martha’s own testimony of cancer and the unquestionably good God who took her through it.
